Race For Victory: Rand Water main sponsor of elite cycling event

Willie Smit scooped the 2015 Rand Water Race For Victory title.

WILLIE Smit beat out the rest of the field with a 40 second gap to win the 2015 Rand Water Race For Victory.

The 2015 Rand Water Race for Victory was held on Sunday, September 13, at its new venue, the Boswell Wilkie Circus tent near Daleside.

Smit won the elite men’s category in a time of 3:31:17. The elite cyclists tackled the 150km route through the breathtaking surrounds and the Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve. This route is an official qualifier for the 947 Cycle Challenge and the 2016 Cape Town Cycle Tour.

Ryan Gibbons, Smit’s team mate from Europcar, earned the king of the mountains title.

This was the 20th edition of the Race For Victory which is a fundraiser organised by the Frances Vorwerg School.
