Young guns ready for action

Both of the boxers’ are in great shape and only the evening of the fight night will tell who will be the superior boxer.

THE boxing fraternity can expect fireworks on Thursday night, July 30, when the young guns of boxing will step into the ring.

Young Guns Box ‘n Dine will take place at Emperors Palace and promises to be an action-packed affair. African Ring, in conjunction with Golden Gloves Promotions, will be presenting the tournament.

Fireworks will start when two best friends, Warren Joubert and Grant Fourie, have a showdown. Joubert, who now resides in Alberton, and Fourie, from the South, have shared many years sparring and training together, but this time they will square off for the South African junior-welterweight title. Currently Joubert is the rightful owner of the belt and according to him, he will not forfeit the title which he has worked so hard for.

Joubert has joined the Hot Box gymnasium under the watchful eye of Colin Nathan, who has produced many champions and world title holders. “I am fit and have worked well and there is no chance that I will just give away my title”, said Joubert.

On the other hand, Fourie, who has recovered from his illness, said: “This is the time for me, and am preparing well and will prove on the evening that I am the better fighter.” Fourie will have Harold Volbrecht as his mentor.

The fight between the two friends will no doubt be an explosive one as both boxers have their exceptional fighting skills.
