Junior Boks focus attention on vital Aussie clash

Junior Boks facing Australia in their next outing.

It was recovery day for the Junior Springboks on Sunday, June 7, following their second match at the World Rugby u.20 Championship, a very physical encounter against Samoa on Saturday, June 6, in Parma.

The young South Africans delivered a powerful display to out-muscle Samoa by 40-8 in hot summer conditions at the Stadio San Michele in Parma. The victory enabled the Junior Boks to register their second bonus-point win in as many outings so far in the tournament.

Hanro Liebenberg and his team mates will now turn their attention to their final Pool C match on Wednesday, against Australia in Calvisano.

On Sunday, the Junior Springbok team doctor, Dr Jerome Mampane, confirmed there were no injuries of note reported after the physical battle with Samoa.

South Africa (Pool B), England (Pool A) and New Zealand (Pool C) are the log leaders in their respective groups after two matches. All collected the maximum ten points on offer so far.

The pool winners, plus the best-placed second team across the three groups, qualify for the semi-finals on June 15.
