Tri-Club bowls tournament
The Tri-Club Competition takes place every year and serves a wonderful purpose of bringing together members of the three bowling clubs in Alberton, namely Alberton Bowling Club, Brackenhurst Bowling Club and Reading Bowling Club, to compete in a friendly, but very competitive way.
ALBERTON – The Tri-Club Competition takes place every year and serves a wonderful purpose of bringing together members of the three bowling clubs in Alberton, namely Alberton Bowling Club, Brackenhurst Bowling Club and Reading Bowling Club, to compete in a friendly, but very competitive way.
Each club enters eight teams consisting of mixed ladies and men teams.
This competition was started by Mr John McArdle and his family seven years ago, and the clubs compete for a trophy donated by the McArdle family. It is played on May 1 each year.
Brackenhurst was in the lead for the first five years and Alberton Bowling Club won the trophy for the first time in 2014 and again this year.
