ALBERTON – Alberton senior Super League side has played four matches so far, with a victory in the penultimate of the four.

In the game to celebrate AFC’s 48 years of existence in the last Super League game prior to the long weekends at Alberton Soccer Complex, Highlands Park (10th on the log) was hosted by Alberton FC (13th on the log) at the Alberton Stadium.

The game started evenly and not much difference occurred.

The visitors, however, scored the opening goal in the 30th minute and from there onwards, it was unfortunately a downward spiral for the home side.

GUARDING THE GOAL POST: Alberton FC’s young goalkeeper Bevin Cowdy had a busy game guarding the goal area against Highlands Park.

The next goal against Alberton FC brought the half time score to 0-2.

Another two goals in the second half made the final score in Highlands Park 4-0.

It is a young side with a passionate coach in the form of the experienced Darren Bedworth, which augurs well for improvement for the remainder of the season.
