ALBERTON – These were the words of CMA chairman Macdonald Chitja, when promoting the use of the official logo for the 2015 Comrades marathon. “Be part of it Bamba Iyhoza” is the new slogan.

Comrades runners are invited to be part of it on May 31, when the up-run will start at 05:30 at Durban City Hall and end 12 hours later at the Oval Cricket Stadium in Pietermaritzburg.

Comrades entries already closed in November 2014 with an entry cap of 23 000. Entrants, however, still have the opportunity to qualify until May 4 this year.

The current holder of the Comrades records are Leonid Shvetsov 5:24:47 set in 2008, and the women’s record stands behind Elena Nurgalieva 6:09:24 set in 2008.
