Golden Lions Rugby Union has announced the 2015 Super Rugby squad who will be in action.
“The squad comprises mostly the core of players I used in the 2014 campaign. There are a few players that didn’t make the squad, but we told them that they still need to do a few small things, and the possibility exists that they will be included later on in the season,” said head coach Johann Ackerman.
“We look forward to a good season, and I know that it will be tougher this time round, as the other teams know us, but I have a young bunch of players who are eager to play.”
Ackerman was also named as the ABSA Coach of the Year for the Xerox Golden Lions team 2014.
“This is not just me and all my efforts, but I dedicate the award to the team and my family,” said Ackerman.

Emirates Lions will get their Vodacom Super Rugby campaign under way on Friday February 13 as they take on the Hurricanes at Emirates Airline Park in Johannesburg.

Season tickets are also still available from just R800 and include a ticket to all Vodacom Super Rugby and ABSA Currie Cup home games, as well as the Springboks versus All Blacks Test.
