Louw gears up for Rockmania Showdown

JOHANNESBURG – The Brakpan venue will come alive on July 5 as petrol heads march their way to soak up all the action trackside as the all-in-one showdown is set to dazzle young and old alike.

This Rockmania is going to be special, as music fans of Nicholis Louw will be in for a double treat. Not only will Nicholis Louw be singing some of his famous songs, but he will also be racing his Legend racing car. That’s right folks, Nicholis Louw is racing too, together with some of South Africa’s popular drivers like Gary Formato, Devin Robertson, Seef Fourie Jnr and many more.

Accompanying the Legend racing cars will be a full field of Out Law V8 Sprints that will roar around the 400M circuit together with a full oval discipline of open-wheeled and saloon racing cars.

The Formula N circuit cars will also keep you riveted to your seats as the saloon car drivers jostle for positions around the tricky race circuit. With plenty of chicanes and tight corners passing each other can be hair-raising at the best of times, but very entertaining for the crowds nonetheless. There will be a double dose of V8 action as the Lexus V8 class will entertain all who relish the brutal roars of the V8 engine.

So come support your favourite driver and vehicle manufacture by wearing their branded cap, shirt or jacket, let’s see who are the Ford, Nissan, Mini, Mazdafans.

Drifting fans are also treated to slide by slide tandem action as they smoke out the house with tyre smoke. Straight line heads-up racing from the street to strip brigade will ensure all drag racing fans an adrenalin thrill of note.

A special stunt has also been planned for the day by the Rock Raceway team, guaranteed to take your breath away.

The gates open at 10:00 and the event starts at 14:00. Tickets cost R60 for adults and R30 for children (ages 6 to 12). Embankment parking per vehicle costs only R40. Plenty of refreshments and eateries will be on sale on site in the food court.
