The tournament is edging closer and closer to the highly anticipated Champions Finals,and teams around the country will want to stake their claim in the showpiece to be staged in Soweto on July 5 and 6.

As it stands, the Carling Black Label sponsored tournament has by far exceeded all expectations with a total of 64 magnificent goals scored in 24 matches,accompanied by a brilliant display of quality football. Not only has the Carling League of Champions enjoyed overwhelming success on the field of play, but communities of the participating teams have come out in their numbers to show their support for the beautiful game, as their local heroes make them proud.

The round-robin structured tournament, which carries R20 000 prize money plus an all-expenses paid trip to witness the two Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, battle it out in the 2014 Carling Black Label Cup at the FNB Stadium, has now added another exciting incentive to the tournament, as the player who hits the back of the net most often, is set to receive a one-year PUMA football apparel hamper.

Carling Black Label Brand Campaign Manager Devlin Lakay also shared his total satisfaction on the progress of the tournament leading up to the finals.

“We have seen some exciting football since the beginning of the tournament, and we still anticipate even better performances from the remaining regional knockouts.
