Little Kickers launched

The Little Kickers programme introduces real football skills through exciting group play activities.

ALBERTON – Fifteen exciting kids looking forward to fun and games pitched up for the launch of the Little Kickers in Alberton at the Alberton sport complex rugby fields.

Kaizer Chiefs have sponsored some of the goodies for the day, which were handed out to the kids. Little Kickers franchise owners Anton and Christina Paul launched the Little Kickers programme during January in Germiston.

The Little Kickers programme includes the following:

Little kickers – soccer skills coaching for kids aged 18 months to seven years.

At Little Kickers the focus is very much on fun, a national network of informal yet professionally run training classes, where enthusiastic boys and girls are given a helping hand to stand on their own two feet.

”Of course we believe that a head start in sport is a fantastic investment in the future, and naturally we’d be as pleased as punch if any of our former pupils go on to greater glories in the golden game, but the real goal of Little Kickers is to use football as a fun forum to install our growing squad with a little extra confidence, coordination, control and a sense of camaraderie, which will stand them in very good stead for the future,” said Christina Paul of Little Kickers.

They firmly believe children learn best when put in age-appropriate groups. Every game they play can be adapted to meet the developmental needs and ability of any class.

Little Kickers (18 months to 2.5 years), Junior Kickers (2.5 to four years), Mighty Kickers (four to five years), Mega Kickers (five to seven years).

Little Kickers classes help children discover the rewards of regular, structured physical exercise, laying the foundation for fit, active and healthy lives.

The Little Kickers programme introduces real football skills through exciting group play activities. Valuable concepts like sharing, taking turns, teamwork and listening to instructions are incorporated in the activities. The classes also enable children to develop coordination, agility and balance, while early learning concepts such as colours and numbers are gently introduced through football. The football equipment used is realistic and child friendly.
