NEW REDRUTH – Fortunately the sun came out on the Saturday morning and a full contingent of Reading’s best golfers took to the field to compete for the coveted titles.
The talented Shalan Govender (21) emerged as the Men’s Club Champion, winning the A-division on a gross score of 146. Not be outshone by the men, the 25-year-old Marne Roos was crowned as the Ladies’ Club Champion, winning the A-division on a gross score of 155
Shalan won the Winter Championships last year, therefore making it two in a row.
Champions in the other divisions: Men B-Division: Grant Gilmer on a gross score of 166. Men C-Division: Andrew Buttain on 67 points. Ladies B-Division: Martie Snyman on a gross score of 194. Ladies Individual Stableford: Marietjie Tame on 59 points.
