Glenvista residents concerned about the outrageously loud motor cars

The JMPD said they were not aware of the mater and they will investigate.

I would like to express my concern about the outrageously loud motorcars in our suburb of Glenvista.

When is the law going to do something about these people that drive their extremely noisy cars in our suburb with contempt for its residents? Noise from the exhaust systems I am sure does not comply with bylaws when it comes to noise emissions.

This would never have been allowed in days gone by. The motorist of such a vehicle would have been instructed to go for a roadworthy test and their license withdrawn until the vehicle complies, and also given a fine.

These inconsiderate drivers speed up and down Van Beek Avenue purposefully making their cars backfire and emitting ear-splitting, deafening noises.

They are without doubt guilty of speeding, reckless driving and disturbing the peace. I am sure that many Glenvista residents feel the same way.

For a start, speed bumps should be constructed on Van Beek Avenue as they have done in front of Glenanda Primary School.
