Rae Frankel Street is a nightmare to drive on

Authorities need to take notice.

With reference to the article in the Alberton RECORD of April 21, I would like to add.

We reside in Rea Frankel Street, between De Waal and Overbury streets.

We have serious concerns with regards to the reckless driving, speeding and overtaking that happens seven days a week on Rea Frankel.

This is also a 60km/h zone but it seems some people prefer 120km/h in a residential street.

I also have concerns for the joggers, cyclists, dog walkers and pedestrians, as well as the children and adults who live here. We can wait up to 15 minutes in the mornings just trying to get out of our driveway, and usually get a rude finger or tooted at when we try to slip in between cars.

I think the route of De Waal and Rea Frankel is being used as a way to avoid Hennie Alberts Street, as it is a nightmare on that road.

I believe the traffic department would make a killing if they set up permanent cameras but speed humps would also help the situation.

Can the authorities take urgent notice and act accordingly to rectify this problem before someone gets seriously injured or even killed?
