What is going on with this lack of service delivery?

I’ve been living in Langenhoven Street, Randhart, for the past 22 years and never before have I been so frustrated with the municipality and council for the lack of assistance.

I’ve been living in Langenhoven Street, Randhart, for the past 22 years and never before have I been so frustrated with the municipality and council for the lack of assistance.

I very strongly suspect that two houses are getting or, at least, have gotten electricity illegally from the electrical box outside my gate. There have been lengthy trenches dug through the sidewalk by my house with electric cables installed three weeks ago, running from the box to these houses.

Not to mention the piles of soil that have never been cleaned up where these trenches were made and filled again – it’s been this way for weeks now and I’ve had it with this eyesore in front of my property. I’ve always maintained my lawn to the best of my abilities, but these piles of dirt are just horrible.

I’ve called everyone I could think of, from the municipality to the council, but no-one has responded. All I’m asking is for someone to inspect the electrical box to see if illegal connections have been made to it, and I need someone to clean up this mess of soil in front of my house.

EYESORE: The sidewalk in front of Tim Penton’s house after trenches were dug up and re-filled.

I just got out of the hospital, but I will gladly shovel the soil onto the street if no one is interested in assisting me. Then I guess we’ll see if someone finally responds.

Enough is enough – Tim Penton

The RECORD contacted the EMM for comment on the matter, but they did not respond in time for publishing.
