I would like to alert all residents in Mayberry Park that there are thugs driving around the centre where there use to be an OK Grocer and they are armed and dangerous.
I was hijacked just on the corner of Kershout Street on my way home by thugs in a white Mercedes Benz and I can only remember the first letters (FJ) of the number plate.
The vehicle stopped immediately in front of me, boxing me in, and three men got out. One on my side, one on the passenger side and the other one in the front. They were armed and forced me to open the doors. I did so and I was forced to move to the passenger side. Struggling to move, the other guy insisted I move to the back seat. As I was struggling to do that, a car was approaching slowing and it distracted them which forced them to throw me out of the vehicle and they then went off with my vehicle.
I tried to ask for help from the elderly lady who got out the vehicle but she refused and told me to go ask someone else. I understand that because crime is bad and she didn’t feel safe.
I then ran to my home in Besembos Street, barefoot in the cold and in pain and running out of breath. The hijackers hit me with a gun on my back and kicked me.
My vehicle was recovered in Katlehong but all personal items were stolen.
Please be careful and cautious at all times. I almost lost my life.
