Alberton Dam not so nice anymore

Last time I went there all the animals were gone and even when they were there, the conditions they live in looked terrible.

ALBERTON Dam was always such a nice place to visit, but I’m afraid it’s gotten very bad and is getting even worse.

For one thing, people use that whole area as a place to get together or park there and have sex. We have witnessed this first hand, in broad daylight, car doors open and in public. It is a disgrace.

The other thing I was wondering about is the animals.

Last time I went there all the animals were gone and even when they were there, the conditions they live in looked terrible.

Please, could you shed some light on this and do something, because Alberton as a whole is going backward. Please help.

Themba Gadebe, City of Ekurhuleni spokesperson had this to say:

“Investigations about alleged sex issue were conducted with the security company and the guards are not aware of the alleged activities taking place.

“The City of Ekurhuleni has requested the security company to immediately report the perpetrators involved in such acts to the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department.

“The animals at the dam were temporarily moved to other cages due to the renovations taking place. On January 4, the animals were moved back to their cages.”
