Replace strange plant with an aloe

This plant is an exotic South American plant.

With reference to a recent article in the RECORD about the strange plant with the long stem, the following: This plant is an Agave and is exotic from South America.

When the long stalk, which is the flower, has finished flowering the plant dies! When it does, please tell the resident who sent in the article to plant a South African aloe.
