Alberton is falling apart

This could lead to endangering lives.

Please would it be possible to inquire from the Alberton Parks Department the following:

While we as ratepayers appreciate that the grass on our pavements and centre islands is mowed and sort of cleaned up, why is there not a team to properly clean up all the grass and rubbish that grows next to the roads and islands?

Secondly: the Energy Department. They carry out work on the street poles but then they do not replace the covers over where all the electrical wires are.

I myself have taped the opening closed just for them on their next working visit to open it and leave the cover just hanging again. This could lead to endangering lives.

Just two roads, for example, Overbury and then Hennie Alberts from Meyersdal right through to Brackenhurst. Is there no pride in their City?

One more thing, maybe you can enlighten the ratepayers of Brackendowns as to the following: I have tried the call centre, but it is useless trying to get information from them.

Question is: what is the latest situation regarding the old Brackendowns Shopping Centre at the corner of Rae Frankel and De Waal streets? It will soon be a crime centre because of the not-so-good people hanging around in the old buildings.

-SWA, Brackendowns.

RECORD has contacted the City of Ekurhuleni for comment, but we have received none as yet.
