Prepaid electricity cheaper? What a joke!
One does not have to be a genius to understand that in order to pay less for electricity, you have to use less.
The few golden rules remain the same: Switch your geyser on only once a day for 90 minutes, use a gas stove instead of an electric one, unplug all appliances when not in use, vacuum your swimming pool three times per week to instead of leaving the pump running, use LED energy saver light-bulbs, etc.
If you use less than 600kw per month, you can apply at Eskom to be on tariff A at R1.17 per kw, instead of R1.76 per kw. You will also get 100 units free, so you could possibly make a R500 saving that way every month.
