I am sending you (Alberton RECORD) this letter because I have exhausted all other avenues to try to get some joy from the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, so perhaps the media can help in this regard.
Over the last few months I have been struggling to get hold of anyone on the EMM Customer Care Line.
It is my understanding that the very point of the line is to assist customers; it’s in the name for heaven’s sake, but it seems to be quite the opposite.
I have called many, many times, and of all the times they have answered only once, and then I was told that they are just getting someone who may better know about my enquiry. I was put on hold for about 10 minutes and I could hear the ”employees” all having a big chat, laughing. It actually sounded like a big party to be honest, just to hear someone pick up the phone and hang up on me.
All the other times, the phone just rang and rang, or it would be picked up and just hung up immediately.
This is unacceptable and, quite frankly, disgusting.
These people make fat salaries that you and I, as taxpayers, provide, and all they do is party and not do any work in the very short work day they already have.
It is a disgrace and I hope you can make this public and perhaps they will start pulling up their socks… Of course, this is unfortunately very unlikely.
