A clean town starts with you

People are making the mess and they should clean-up the mess.

You often hear South Africa is a developing country. Really?

What do we have that needs development?

We have houses, roads, trains, planes, cars, Gautrain, highways, cellphones and internet.

So what do we have to develop? People! That is all I can think of.

If you look at the pavements, streets, parking areas and the amount of litter lying around and think who put it there? People!

Do they really do the same at their homes?

Parents need to be an example and teach their children that you throw your rubbish in a bin and not in the streets, out the car window or while walking after finishing your takeaways, cold drinks or cigarette boxes.

I see people sitting on the pavement to eat their meal and they leave their containers right there after finishing.

Who must clean it up? How would you feel if someone left their rubbish on your pavement?

The only way to clean-up Alberton and South Africa is to develop yourself, your children and friends.
