Just a warning about criminals

I would just like to make people in the community aware of criminals driving around trying to scam people, and possibly more.

I would just like to make people in the community aware of criminals driving around trying to scam people, and possibly more.

On Wednesday, August 11, my gate (house in Meyersdal) would not open properly, and because my wife and I have been hijacked twice before, we are very wary of things like that. I told my wife to go in the house while I try to sort the gate out, and soon after that, a white Golf drove up and a guy approached me.

He put on a fake accent and tried to spin a story about how he needs to sell all his stock of goods (at a discounted price) before he flies back home later the same day.

He tried to get into the house, with the excuse of wanting to show me what he has got to sell, and there was another guy in the car, most likely there for back-up, to be a lookout and getaway driver if you ask me.

Fortunately, a friend of mine drove past and stopped to say hello, which obviously scared the guys, because as soon as my friend approached, they left.

I just want to tell people to be vigilant and not to fall for schemes like this and let people into your homes. It could cost you your lives.
