Christmas wish for our community

My wish for one and all is to have a blessed and peaceful Christmas

We have come to the end of yet another year and I would like to wish all residents well over the festive season. As we say goodbye for a short time lets us all take some time to let our weary bodies rest and our tired minds recharge.

This past year was filled with many challenges. It was especially difficult for my family and I, with many personal trials and tribulations, but the support and compassion of Ekurhuleni residents have kept us strong throughout. We say goodbye to 2014 having come out stronger than we went in. We leave behind the things that brought us sadness and keep in our heart the things that gave us gladness. We say goodbye to the people we choose to leave in the past and celebrate all the new friendships which came at no cost.

Let us remember why we celebrate this special time of year when God gave to us His Son whom He loved so dearly. To show us what commitment, forgiveness and faith means and that with His birth He brought us hope.

Merry Christmas to all residents and their families. Christmas is a day that holds great meaning for many Ekurhuleni residents. Community members will come together to share gifts, to rekindle relations and to bond with family and friends, all in the spirit of goodwill.

I would like, on behalf of the leaders of Ekurhuleni, to wish every one a happy and peaceful Christmas. Please take the time and remember that as we celebrate and relish the joys of Christmas, many people in our community are not able to do so. Let us bridge the gap by lending a helping hand to those who are in need by showing compassion, especially to children and the aged.

During this festive season I wish to thank everybody in our municipality for the hard work they have done this year to ensure that we deliver municipal services to the residents of Ekurhuleni.

A special thanks to those who are engaged in essential services and must work over this time to serve our community with loyalty and selflessness such as emergency services, EMPD officers and other law enforcement agencies.
