I cannot believe the attitude of Ekurhuleni towards their refuse removal staff today (March 3)!
The fact that they changed the dates of refuse removal in all areas of Alberton without bothering to inform residents, which they could well have done through the media (plenty of avenues available there), and then sending out their staff to collect the refuse, which residents are unaware is going to be collected, is an absolute disgrace.
These staff members in their trucks wasted their time and petrol, driving up and down streets and hooting to inform residents that they’re in the area for refuse. It is without all regard and respect for their staff. The fact that residents are now already at work and unaware of these changes has not entered their brains in the least! These refuse removal staff members will now get home to their respective families late in the evening. It’s also raining continuously today so these employees are now also wet and cold.
Does Ekurhuleni have absolutely no respect for their employees and their families at all? Obviously not, as was proved today. The “clever” ones sitting warm and dry in their offices, pocketing the astronomical amounts of money we have to fork out every month for their foul-ups, promptly leave at 16:00 or 16:30 to go home to their families and enjoy a nice warm meal and time with their families!
The refuse removal staff will not have that privilege! I hope you’re proud of yourselves for your thoughtless attitudes!
Have some respect, Ekurhuleni, for your refuse removal staff and ensure that you do your jobs efficiently and timeously before throwing your refuse removal staff out in the rain and cold! Shame on you. You’re a disgrace and an embarrassment to your staff and to the residents of Alberton.
Try using your brains and thinking in all directions in the future before you take steps in changing dates, etc.
