Credit where it is due

Resident shares her experience with SAPS members who did an outstanding job.

With all the negativity surrounding our Police Service recently, I feel compelled to share the positive experience I had with two extremely professional officers from the Alberton Police Station.

I got home yesterday, February 4, to find it burgled. I immediately called 10111 for assistance, to which Constable Taukobong and Constable Khambule responded… in 10 minutes, I must add.

For those who don’t know, a burglary at your home is a very traumatic, infuriating and frustrating experience.

Constables Taukobong and Khambule’s approach to my horrible situation was professional and compassionate, which really helped me to deal with the incident in a calm and sane manner. While I am fully aware of the dangers our Police Officers face when on duty, I am truly grateful to Constable Taukobong and Constable Khambule for coming to my rescue with their ‘A Game’.

In my humble opinion, if all police officers responded to calls with their best foot forward such as these officers did, I have no doubt that the public opinion of SAPS will change to positive and in turn lead to much stronger public cooperation in crime fighting.
