Three cheers for appreciation and warning report

Reader thanks SAPS for their swift response.

On Thursday night, September 12 at 20:15 the first disturbing sounds were heard in the common gardens and on the paving of our complex; however it was assumed that some neighbours were sorting out their properties.

Then it became obvious that a couple of unwelcome visitors were active on the roof. I phoned the Brackendowns Police station and immediately Capt. Motale answered the phone, she promised to send someone to our complex.

There were a couple of vehicles and a whole team, armed and alert with torches. Although they could not find anybody, the approaching vehicles with flashing lights and sirens might have warned the culprits so they could have either been hiding or escaped into the park.

On leaving they assured me that they will definitely come back, should the culprits return. They also made sure I was safe in my home, before leaving. Straight after they left, I couldn’t believe how quiet it sounded all of a sudden, when there were no more activities carrying on!

Captain Motale, Constable Mosemane, Martha and team: a great thank you for your dedication and caring, you are true cops! We are very fortunate to have such a force in our area!

To my neighbours Paul and Carol, I appreciate your caring and involvement. Warning to the public: don’t be relaxed if you are living in a “secure” complex, as this has been a second incident in our street in the so called secure complexes in two months.

Please check that the security gate closes safely behind you on entry or exit, before moving on.
