The Bag Lady

I’d like to add to this Bouquet, thank you, thank you, thank you! I can now phone my husband without his phone going directly to voicemail!

Busy week and the year is quite literally running away! Stop the clock … Now wouldn’t that be great if we could do that every now and then? Why is it when I’m waiting for an appointment at the dentist the minutes take forever but when I’m on deadline I look at the clock and it’s 10am and the next time I look it’s 2pm!

Woolworths does it again

Apart from the great specials which seem to be getting more competitive with other food stores, they have some new products which are certainly going to save time for the busy working women. Sweet potatoes are a tasty less carb choice from the ordinary potato and Woolies now has Sweet Potato Mash, Sweet Potato Rounds, Diced Sweet Potato and Sweet Potato Chips, very conveniently packaged and ready to cook. Talking about this delicious potato, they are now selling Kara Purple which is perfect for boiling or roasting. Kara White, with a creamy texture, is great for boiling or mashing and Kara Orange is sweet flavoured and ideal for roasting. Now isn’t that just a whole lot of sweetness.

Also new on the shelves are Roasting Spice Kits, Easy to Bake Baking Kits and Oralfresh Dental Care Range. Check them out.

Still at Woolworths, they have had a change in price to some of their luxury brown breads but they do have a notice informing you.

“A few of our speciality breads are affected by a change in VAT status from zero to 15 per cent. The new prices will reflect the change in VAT status and the one percent increase in VAT and have not been rounded.”

If you wish to query this there is a phone number available for you to call which is on the notice. The one loaf I enjoyed has gone up to about R23, so it will be a treat from now on.

Loving Lindt

My favourite chocolate brand, Lindt, has a new choccie out at the shops. Fruit Sensation, choose between Dark Chocolate Raspberry and Cranberry or Dark Chocolate Orange and Pink Grapefruit. A little pricey, but then isn’t everything that’s worth it?

Bouquet of the Week

Colin Maule wishes to thank two of the staff at Woolworths, Comaro View Shopping Centre, Bassonia for their help.

“There was something wrong with my cellphone and for some reason I couldn’t get the data to load when I bought it at Woolworths. Thank you to Zinhle Chuene and Khatu Khumalo for all your assistance. You certainly went way beyond the call of duty and I really appreciate your help. Even so far as going out of the store to see if you could get a signal. Thank you.”

I’d like to add to this Bouquet, thank you, thank you, thank you! I can now phone my husband without his phone going directly to voicemail. So infuriating!

That’s it for this week. Shop till you drop!
