The Bag Lady

Here’s to warmer days and nights, some rain, but not too much (hahaha), gin and tonics on the patio and relaxing lunches outside.

It’s finally here, spring in all its glory, and I’m so ready for it. It’s funny how I can feel a definite change this past week. Here’s to warmer days and nights, some rain, but not too much (hahaha), gin and tonics on the patio and relaxing lunches outside. There are already trees budding, as well as blossom trees, and plants are beginning to shoot. A beautiful time of the year to enjoy.

Hats off to Meyersdal Spar

I’d not been into Meyersdal Spar for quite some time and popped in last week. The store is looking really fabulous with wide aisles and neat, well-stocked shelves. The vegetable and salad produce looks really fresh, the bakery section delicious and the meat appetising and labelled well. I really like the super greeting cards and gift wrap section. The store is very handy, saving me going to a centre and paying for parking on my way home. There is also a good selection of wines – some are very well priced. The upright freezers are a definite bonus, and what I liked was how well they are stocked. At the till the woman who served me was super-friendly and I left having thoroughly enjoyed my shopping. Well done to the owners and management!

Another robbery

Unfortunately for Mall of the South, there was another jewellery store robbery last week. I read many of the comments on Facebook and in all honesty I probably would have agreed with some of them a while back. I was fortunate to see CCTV footage of previous store robberies and what I never realised before was how quickly these crimes take place. I’m not naïve and obviously didn’t think the robbers would come into the mall with guns blazing, but I did think they would be more noticeable! Not a damn! They are like any other ‘normal’ shopper, quietly entering and leaving the store. It’s quite unbelievable how innocent they look.

I’m sure many of us dread the thought of another robbery while we are shopping, well I certainly do, but it’s the times we live in. I think if it happens one must stay out of the way and not panic.

Not to finish on a depressing note, the shops are awaiting you. I can’t wait to put a few hours aside and go and treat myself to a new dress, or something!

Until next week, shop till you drop.
