Driving to work on Monday morning I couldn’t believe how many vehicles were already on the road. I’m an early riser and I’m often up and about by 05:00 but that day I wanted to be at the office early so I left home just before six. Coming through Meyersdal it was really busy and it was school holidays! That’s one thing you can say about many South Africans, we are hard workers and also work/travel long hours. Hats off to all those people who travel from the South to the North every weekday, you have my utmost respect.
Opening hours for Ducks Country House
Last week my brain was fuddled by a few duck feathers and I forgot to inform you of the opening hours for Ducks Country House. They are open on Friday afternoons from 12:00, Saturdays and Sundays and some public holidays, from 09:00 to 16:00, with last orders in the coffee shop at 15:00. If you are planning on visiting on a public holiday, rather give Anrike a quick call on 083 603 1210 just to check if they’ll be open or not.
New café

Shelia from Mayfield Park gives a bouquet to Michael from Southern Plumbing. “My hand shower had given up working and I phoned Southern Plumbing and Michael came out. What a star! He was so friendly and gave excellent service. My faith in the human race has been restored.”
