Last Saturday I popped into The Glen Shopping Centre and browsed around Woolies, @Home and Mr Price Home. I’m still trying to rearrange my lounge to have a ‘new look’ for the winter months, but with a budget in mind, it’s not easy.
I bought two throws a few weeks ago and now I think I need new curtains to match those. Ummm, I’ll keep on looking. Coricraft at Mall of the South has incorporated Volpes which specialise in quality bed linen, curtains, duvet covers and towel collections. They really do have a beautiful selection so this weekend I’ll pay them a visit. Maybe I’ll find a pair of curtains which will suit my pocket!
Bouquet of the Week
“I recently broke a spring of the secateurs that we use in the garden. Being an ordinary round wire spring value about R15, tops, I figured that my chances of finding a replacement was almost nil. That was until I happened to visit Tulip Garden Centre in Haddon.
“Our visit was to buy seeds and, after being helped by a very efficient lady, I took a chance and asked her whether they kept spares for Gardena products. While her answer was in the negative, she proceeded to establish what spare I looking for. Given that it was a small and rather insignificant spring, I would have understood if she had of lost interest in getting involved. Instead she immediately contacted her supplier, who happened to be on the way to see her. She took our telephone number and within two hours she called to say that she had the spring. When we went to collect it she refused to take any money because, she said that her supplier had not charged her for the spring, so she could not charge us.
“The lady’s name is Busisiwe and when we asked what her actual job was, she said: “Oh, I do anything that has to be done.” We have not had such service backed by comprehensive product knowledge, done with a smile and bubbling enthusiasm in a long time. Her employers certainly have a gem!” said Noel Thornton, from Mulbarton.
