The Bag Lady

What's The Bag lady been up to this week? Read and find out.

Into March and autumn is in the air. I see winter bedding is coming into the shops and many more winter fashions.

I, as usual, was at the Woolies sale, picking up bargains galore. What I didn’t count on was picking up a toddler who was walking around the store all alone. He can’t have been more than 20 months and was obviously looking for his mom. I took hold of his hand and then picked him up to see if anyone was looking for him. I saw a woman close-by and asked if he was her son, she said no.

We called for a manager and then the toddler pointed to a woman and another young boy in the distance. I walked over to her, still carrying him and asked her if he was her child, to which she calmly replied, “Yes,” and took him from me! Not a word of thanks, not a care in the world. This must have taken about 10 minutes and she wasn’t even looking for him. Thank God I found him.  In this sick world we live in he could have been taken out of the store, in fact the centre in that time and never found again. Please, keep your children close to you at all times.

Will it suit you?

A woman in a suit, trousers or skirt, looks so professional. I see suits are “in” this year and the jackets are really chic. A suit can take you from morning to evening, team it with a lacy blouse and killer heels and you’ll be able to face anything or for that matter, anybody!

In the bag

Woolies does it again with a new range of potato crisps. SA’s favourite flavours including Sweet Peppadew Peppers. Delish and at R14.95 can be enjoyed by everyone.

In season

Raspberries, gooseberries and rhubarb.

Raspberries are best eaten with thick fresh cream or used in a sticky pavlova, try gooseberries in a delicious crumble and there’s nothing better than a tart rhubarb pie with thick custard or cream. Enjoy!
