The Bag Lady

What's The Bag Lady been up to this week?

Winter is still far away, well, I hope so but chunky knits and woollen items are making an appearance in stores. As soon as I see warmer clothing appearing I know a sale isn’t too far off! Keep a look out and if I see any signs of a forthcoming sale I’ll be sure to let you know. Saying this, most stores have sale items permanently to buy but there’s nothing like a “proper” sale to get real bargains.

Focus on Local

We are all trying to get healthy and eat the correct food, take the correct vitamins, etc and Bunny’s Health Shop, situated at 80 Main Street, Rosettenville can certainly play a part in your “new” lifestyle.

Bunny’s Health Shop has been here for over 30 years and manager, Daksha Kalyan, is an expert on health foods, natural products, different teas and homeopathic treatments.

Daksha Kalyan.

The shop stocks gluten free treats including bread and pastas; oils from pumpkin, flax, hemp, and omega and soya products. There’s a delicious choice of herbal teas and dried fruits and nuts; wheat grass, flours and oils; and a whole range of vitamins.

A Homeopathic Natura range and Bach Flower Remedies as well as Solgar products are also sold.

For asthma and excema sufferers you’ll find products to relieve the problem and you’ll even find Goat’s Milk Soap.  Have a muscular problem? Have a look at the ointments and sprays.

Daksha has a passion for herbs and her advice is second to none!

At Bunny’s Health Shop you can purchase Himalayan salt lamps which purify surroundings and have a healing effect and juicers and blenders. “Healthy smoothies have become a way of life for many and we sell super foods which you can add to smoothies or cereals,” said Daksha.

One thing I’ve looked for is Agave Nectar and Bunny’s sell it!

Pop in and see for yourself. Parking is available at the front of the shop. Phone 011 435 3558011 435 3558.

Support Breakfast for Better Days

Kellogg’s is running an initiative which will donate a breakfast to a child in need, for every marked pack of Kellogg’s cereal you buy. They will provide a grain-based cereal and milk breakfast, helping to fuel bodies and minds for a better start to their day. Almost one in five South African children do not eat breakfast and as we all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Support this worthwhile initiative and help Kellogg’s to feed a child.

Women’s World Day of Prayer

On Friday March 7 at Brackenhurst Methodist Church, Women’s World Day of Prayer is being remembered. There will be two services, one at 10:00 and the other at 19:00. All welcome.

Bouquet of the week

To The Glen Shopping Centre’s security and Mr Price’s in-shop security, a big thank you from Sylvia Malota. “I was shopping with my daughter in Mr Price clothing store on Sunday February 16 when my handbag was stolen.  Their security woman who was on duty was fantastic and went beyond the call of duty and The Glen’s security was also marvellous. I got my handbag back and nothing had been taken.  Thank you very much,” said Sylvia.
