Alberton North in shambles

Alberton North is going down the tubes.

I woke up 24 September as usual at 05:30. The mere fact that it was a holiday, got me out of bed in a jiffy. I dressed and decided to go for a walk before I planned the rest of braai day.

By 06:00 I was on my way, and walked up Charl Cilliers Avenue. That early on a public holiday, the streets were already occupied by suspicious looking people hanging around on street corners. I decided to go down Tenth Avenue to pass the circle graveyard. From there I made my way to the top of Alberton North and down Van Riebeeck Avenue.

What a disgusting experience. People were sleeping on pavements and in alleys as if they own the area. The street was filled with all kinds of rubbish and the

smell was overwhelming. As far as to the bottom of Van Riebeeck Avenue, the same sad picture. Even right opposite the police station! Between Hot Pot and KG Centre, drunk people were sitting round and some even relieved themselves right there in public.

Someone is not doing their job and should be removed and replaced by competent people. Alberton North is going down the tubes. Maybe because the so-called people in charge do not know any better?
