The fifth Eden Park S.E.K. Kids Christmas Party was held at the JD Thomas Hall in Eden Park.
The event was made possible by the generous support of sponsors who helped create long-lasting and sentimental memories for the Eden Park community kids.
A celebration with a purpose
The Christmas party was more than just a celebration; it had a purpose.
The event featured memory Bible verses, Christmas carols, bullying preventative measures, character-building exercises and a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
The kids also sang the S.E.K. Kids anthem, showcasing their spirit and enthusiasm.
Awards ceremony and recognition
The event further included the first-ever awards ceremony, where outstanding kids and volunteers were recognised for their achievements.
Avah Kortom was crowned S.E.K. Kid 2024 for her loyalty, commitment and punctuality.
Chamoné Baardman was awarded the 2024 Volunteer of the Year award for her willingness to serve.
Gratitude to sponsors and volunteers
The organisers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors and volunteers who made the event possible.
Special thanks went to Anthony Bluemeyer and the McDonald’s team for the kiddies’ meals, councillor Dino Petersen for helping to secure the hall at no cost and Tamara Lemmetjies at the Civic Center in Alberton for her professionalism and kindness.
The organisers would also like to extend a special thank you to Nathaniel Steenkamp for bringing joy and cheer to the children as Father Christmas for the day.
