Community members embark on clean-up campaign

Phase one of the campaign only reached the community of Langa and Bophelong, however, there are plans to ramp it up to other areas in and around Roodekop.

Community members in Roodekop Ext 31 embarked on a cleaning campaign to spruce up their neighbourhood.

The cleaning campaign involved children in the community and aimed to create awareness amongst them and others who live in the community about the benefits of living in a clean environment.

Weeds on the pavement were also cut and put into plastic bags during the clean-up campaign.

Phase one of the campaign only reached the community of Langa and Bophelong, however, there are plans to ramp it up to other areas in and around Roodekop.

Little ones were part of the clean-up campaign in Roodekop.

“We are planning to do community clean-up every six months to maintain awareness. For now, it is only the community of Langa and Bophelong that were cleaned up, but we intend to extend the campaign to the broader Roodekop community. Thanks to everyone from the Langa and Bophelong community who participated in the clean-up campaign,” said Sam Moshoeshoe.
