Miss Earth 2024 finalist treats Alberton Service Centre seniors

Miss Earth 2024 finalist uses her title to give back to the community.

This year’s arts and crafts day at Alberton Service Centre was extra special, thanks to a generous donation from Miss Earth 2024 finalist Shanon Thomas.

Thomas visited the centre, donating 70 parcels filled with essential items to the centres’ residents and club members, on September 17, as part of her community service commitment.

Thomas handed over parcels containing soap, tissues, Vaseline, moisturiser, toothpaste, and a packet of chips. She also donated five rice packages with non-perishable food items.

“I reached out to the Miss Earth organisation and offered to distribute sponsored items to those in need. They recommended Alberton Service Centre, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to make a difference,” Thomas explained.

Alberton Service Centre, a local organisation dedicated to supporting seniors in Alberton, welcomed Thomas’ generosity.

“We’re grateful for Shanon’s kindness. This donation means a lot to us as the organisation,” said Telana de Winnaar of the Alberton Service Centre.
