The Broken Wings Association for Adults with Disabilities held its third annual Spring Tea fundraiser, drawing 150 attendees to the Dutch Reformed Church in Alberton South from 10:00 to 13:00.
The gathering offered a delightful afternoon of good food, inspiring entertainment and meaningful giving.
David Way was the guest artist, and he didn’t disappoint. His angelic voice had everyone in awe.
One of the highlights was the showcase of handmade crafts created by the talented ‘Broken Wingers’ – the association’s members.
These unique pieces reflected the artisans’ skills and symbolised the organisation’s mission to empower adults with disabilities.
The announcement of raffle prizes added an exciting element to the day, with the lucky winners taking home gifts. However, the real prize was the sense of community and compassion that filled the room.
All the funds raised will go towards the organisation’s daily expenses, supporting 20 beneficiaries.
The Broken Wings Association relies on volunteers and sponsors to provide vital services to those in need.
“We need 10 more people who can become members of the organisation,” said Sharon Roberts, the association’s chairperson.
The organisation seeks sponsors to help its needy beneficiaries who can’t pay their fees.
