Golfers tee off in aid of Stepping Stone Hospice

Golfers enjoyed a beautiful day on the Reading Country Club course during a fundraising event in support of Stepping Stone Hospice.

In support of Stepping Stone Hospice & Care Services, iCare Optometrists hosted their fundraising golf day event on September 12 at the Reading Country Club.

Ninety-two players enjoyed a good game of golf and natural surroundings as they golfed for a good cause.

At hole five, if someone made a hole-in-one win they were to walk away with a whopping prize of R50 000, with Hospice also receiving the same amount.

Proceeds from the well-supported fundraiser will enable Stepping Stone Hospice to provide specialist palliative care to people experiencing the impact of life-threatening illness in the community.

“It was a lovely golf day, and I’m just in awe of the love and support that people have for our children’s unit. We would like to thank iCare Optometrists and all the local businesses who kindly donated and made the golf day a massive success.

“It was great to see so many faces show up to support the work that we do,” said Tersia Burger, CEO of Stepping Stone Hospice.
