Two learners save resident’s house from burning down

While supporting the school’s girls’ cricket team on July 29, Jordan Feenstra and James Paget from Hoërskool Dinamaka noticed smoke coming out of a house two blocks from the school.

They decided to go and investigate to find out what was going on and saw a woman who reported that her neighbour’s house was on fire and that the owners were not home.

The two then leapt over the wall and found garden hoses they used to put out most of the fire before the fire department and security arrived.

The local CPF applauded Jordan and James for their self-sacrificing effort and presented them with a medal and certificate of gratitude during a community meeting held on July 31.
