Help Ons Winkel touch lives this winter

Alberton North’s Ons Winkel desperately needs clothing donations and the community’s assistance to share warmth this winter.

With winter upon us, Alberton North’s Ons Winkel appeals to the community to donate clothing to help keep those in need warm.

The store is running low on clothing items and needs the community’s help.

The funds generated by the Ons Winkel go to Solidarity Helping Hand, which, in turn, will make a difference in the lives of others in the community.

According to Ons Winkel’s Frans Burger, they donate to the community continuously.

Their Alrode store was closed before the pandemic due to a lack of donations. Burger said he uses his money to buy items and then donates them to the store.

“We really need clothing donations because it has been a hard winter, and we would highly appreciate the community’s assistance. I’m willing to collect the donations from locals, just so it is convenient for our donors. But it would be of great help if they delivered the donations to our store,” he said.

He also appealed to the community to donate kitchen appliances, cutlery and furniture. Burger stated that the donations would allow them to support their beneficiaries consistently. These beneficiaries include old age homes, preschools and the marginalised.

You can drop off your donations at 7 Hendrik Potgieter Street, Alberton North.
