Fast food giant on Alberton’s Clinton Road pledges donation to Luke Cleton

This is an opportunity for the community of Alberton to chip in while getting something in return.

McDonald’s Alberton, located on Clinton Road, has pledged to donate 10% of all its sales from one specific point of sales for Luke Cleton, the Alberton High learner who landed in hospital after a near-fatal motorcycle accident.

Cleton has been in hospital since May 31 after he was involved in the accident from which he miraculously survived. It is unclear what exactly occurred before an injured Luke was found on the road.

Cleton’s mother, Roslyn van der Merwe, had been fundraising for her son’s medical costs, and raised R82 420 through the BackaBuddy (public donors) campaign and direct monetary donations from close friends and relatives.

But Cleton’s family is trying to raise about R1.5m to keep their son hospitalised and taken good care of.
McDonald’s Cliton Road’s fundraising event is scheduled for July 18 only, between 17:00 and 20:00.

Albertonians are requested to support this initiative.

Cleton’s BackaBuddy campaign is still live or contact Van der Merwe on 076 137 8047 Luke’s mother.
