Brackendowns CPF reach out to the less fortunate

Brackendowns CPF has once again hosted their famous Winter Blanket Drive to help keep the disadvantaged members of the community warm during this winter season.

Brackendowns CPF held their annual Winter Blanket Drive at Brackendowns SAPS on June 22.

The goal of the local CPF’s blanket drive is to support the less fortunate people in the Alberton community by helping those who are most in need to stay warm during winter.

For many people and families, especially those who are struggling financially, the winter may be an especially difficult season.

According to the acting public relations officer of Brackendowns CPF Werner van Wyk, they give warmth, comfort and nourishment to those in need by giving food and blankets. This programme is a great fit with their aim to support, care for and cultivate empathy, compassion and community unity.

“Contributing to the community helps to create a sense of shared purpose and belonging among members of the community, in addition to strengthening interpersonal relationships.

“When we unite together, we can truly change the lives of less fortunate people,” Werner said.

The NPO expressed immense gratitude to Dewald Badenhorst, David Kuadima, Jabulani Tshabalala and Netshedzo Godzwana of Vumatel for the cash donation to buy blankets and sponsorship of their CPF shirts for members.

“As a CPF, we are dedicated to improving people’s lives and leaving a lasting legacy of good change, whether that be through outreach initiatives, volunteer opportunities, or charitable events. We want to express our gratitude to every CPF member who helped to make the project a success,” Werner expressed.

The organisation asked the public to message them privately if they know of any family, adults, children, or pets that need help, so they can provide their assistance.
