Bracken High comes second in EADS Festival

Bracken High attended the Edenvale Acting and Drama Society Festival and came second.

The Edenvale Acting and Drama Society (EADS) recently presented its 26th Annual Drama Festival.

They had the good fortune to have two excellent adjudicators – Jacques Blignaut, best known for his roles as Vince Meintjies in the soap opera 7de Laan and Dr Martin in The Estate, and Dianne Simpson, a talented actress, writer, and director who is currently starring in the Monte Casino production of Witness for the Prosecution.

Bracken High School submitted two entries. The first one, Prince Charming and the Paper Bag Princess, won.

They were also nominated for these categories: best ensemble, best backstage crew, best lighting, and best supporting actresses (Lesedi Sibiya, Katleho Dlamini, and Bonolo Moneypau) for individual performances.

Bracken’s second entry was from a younger cast who performed Camilla the Cat and received the following nominations- best costumes and best sound. Phelokazi Mxhosa won the adjudicators’ special award for her animal acting skills.
