Meyersdal siblings soar to new heights

Brother-sister duo Sheldon and Abby Stols were recently recognised for their excellence, influence and impression.

It is without a doubt that rising stars Sheldon (12) and his sister, Abby Stols (14), are destined for greatness, and the world is their oyster.

Known for his boxing skills, Sheldon, who began boxing a year ago, has earned admiration from his peers.

With sister Abby, who has also made a name for herself, they are on a quest to one day represent the SA. This year, they made a splash in the modelling scene.

Abby recently took the Miss Junior Dinamika 2024 title, while her brother took the Mr Randhart 2024 crown, and both received modelling contracts from Figures Models Alberton.

According to their father, Jacques Harmse, Abby is passionate about hip-hop dancing and is enrolled at DanceIt Studios in Glenvista.

“She hopes to build a career in dancing and one day represent SA abroad, but at the same time, she has a passion for modelling, too. The budding model will soon join Figures Models Alberton and hopes to establish herself as a notable figure,” Harmse explained.

Abby’s adage for modelling is, “Modelling for me isn’t about being beautiful, but creating something interesting for people to look at and think about.

“I have a big support base behind me – my sister, brother, mom, dad and grandparents. But most importantly, I have God by my side, so nothing is impossible,” she said.

Brother Sheldon is a hardworking youngster who will also join Figures Models Alberton.

Sheldon was crowned junior second prince in 2020, the second prince in 2022, the first prince in 2023, and was recently crowned Mr Randhart in 2024.

At the same time, he is an amateur boxer with a record of two wins and one loss. His dream is to represent SA and become a world champ.

“He goes by the boxing nickname of ‘The Big Brawler’, and his message to the youth is, ’The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow. Do not let anyone tell you that you can’t’. If you have dedication, discipline, heart and faith, anything is possible,” Harmse said.

Harmse said this was the start of greatness.

Sheldon thanked his sponsors, Premium Fitness Centre, Punisher Slapfight Promotions, Nyito Sportswear and Infinity Solutions, for believing in and becoming part of his boxing journey.
