Palm Ridge’s DJ Spetla releases new EP

DJ Spetla from Palm Ridge released his new EP title Sgubu and has followers smiling as they listen to the beautiful jam.

Palm Ridge’s well-known musician DJ Spetla dropped another hit single.

The newly released EP, Sgubu, has seen music lovers tagging along with the song on social media.

The local artist Nhlanhla Phiri was born in the early nineties and goes by the stage name DJ Spetla. He began his musical career as a teenager and he hasn’t looked back.

He was raised by his grandmother after his mother died in 2005.

DJ Spetla told the Alberton Record that being raised by his grandmother has taught him about being humble.

“My grandmother supported me in everything I did. She believed in my musical journey and even provided financial support for my gigs and studio time,” the rising star said.

He attended Mpotsheng Secondary School in 2014 and obtained his tertiary qualification at City Varsity College in media and creative arts.

“It showed that when you nurture talent with academic knowledge then big things can happen. After the completion of my qualification I started getting more gigs,” DJ Spetla said.

The local artist went on to enrol for a sound engineering course in Kingston International School and graduated in 2022. He also did a business management course in Singapore.

“I believe that education is the key to success. I not only want to be a motivational DJ but also a great help in the community academically as I share my knowledge.”

The artist has worked with Karyen da Soul, Bokkieult, Miano, and Moscow on Keys.

“I still have a long way to go in the entertainment industry. My style is simple and is mostly house and amapiano,” he said.
