Alberton Mall revamp nears completion

Alberton Mall’s multi-million rand rejuvenation is on the verge of completion. It will likely be completed early next year, with the Alberton SPCA having their charity store set up soon.

The Alberton Mall management has announced that their multi-million rand rejuvenation will bring about exciting enhancements and structural upgrades.

Set to be up and running early next year, patrons can expect phase two (lower ground) of the project to be complete at the end of this month. This is after the rejuvenation project started last July, intending to bring more businesses and customers to the centre.

The initial phase of the upgrade amounted to an estimated R15m while also presenting a rebranded logo as part of the rejuvenation.

Established in 1980, the mall’s project, managed by Veritas Project Management, will provide consumers with a modern look and feel.

Property manager Benithia Ryan from Broll Properties, who manages the mall on behalf of Enyuka Property Holdings, said: “The top floor is almost fully let. The landlord is busy with a project with the SPCA to join us in the centre. The mall has ATMs which are fully operational even during load-shedding as well as our lift and escalators.”

The mall has 35 tenants, with patrons’ favourites including Shoprite, Shoprite Liquor, Ackermans, Maqs Fish and Chips, Fair Price, Home Italia, Rage, Cash Crusaders, and PQ Clothing.

Alberton Mall has also recently welcomed Dischem (which took over from Springbok), Pep, Tasty Gallos, World Sports Betting, Food Hamper, Chic Closet, SLAM Tobacconist, Matimbei Creations, and Eluthandweni Maternity Clinic to the fold.

The First National Bank branch will also come on board next year, joining Ackermans and several other stores.
