Diamond Dance Academy dancers are soaring

After participating in the World Lyrical Dance Federation (WLDF), dancers belonging to the Diamond Dance Academy were invited to represent South Africa at an international competition.

Diamond Dance Academy congratulated its dancers for excelling in performance art.

The young dancers recently received their Federation Provincial Colours through Talent Africa.

As a testament to their commitment, they received an invitation to represent the country at the World Lyrical Dance Federation (WLDF) in Scotland in 2024.

Storm van Rooyen, Chante Mankurwane, Keeridetse Thoboza and Jaelynn Leslie achieved their Federation Provincial colours.

This was after they competed at the WLDF, where they qualified to be part of the South African team to compete next year.

Diamond Dance Academy founder Lynn Botha, who has years of experience in dancing, said she wanted to make every child and young adult’s dream come true and allow them to shine.

“Our studio has grown so much, though it had a rocky start. At least half of the studio received their Federation Provincial Colours and I hope that next year, the rest of the new students will get their colours too. I thank Talent Africa for allowing us this opportunity to secure Federation Provincial Colours. It was a wonderful platform,” she explained.

“I thank Mary from WLDF for organising the World Champs. I also thank Anton, Bianca and Leeshan from AB Biokinetics for allowing us to use their space.

“Some children danced with me for about four months and went through. My girls deserve to compete abroad. They are amazing! However, to get them to Scotland, we are looking at about R60 000 per learner for all costs,” Botha said.

She also thanked Funky Décor & Designz, Lifetime Occasions, Power of Mind, Keppler Trading, AB Biokinetics and What’s Cooking for their continued support.

Botha also thanked the parents and students for staying loyal to the studio, echoing, “Without them, there would be no studio”.
