Bracken High alumnus crowned

Former Bracken High School learner Inothando Mphithi entered the world of pageantry in 2021 and has flourished ever since.

Inothando Mphithi was recently crowned Miss Jnr Teen South Africa and Miss Jnr Teen Universe South Africa in Pretoria on October 7.

She will be representing South Africa in Turkey next year.

She has been guided throughout her whole journey by her coach Charmaine Swart from the C&C Modeling Academy. Inothando aspires to one day walk on the Miss South Africa platform.

She is a goal-driven youngster who aims to make a difference in the community one day at a time.

The former Bracken High School learner is the founder of Liberal Hearts Foundation, where she helps around the Alberton community by simply donating clothing and hosting food drives.

She advocates for ‘pad poverty’, which is why she wants to start a toiletry drive to donate to young girls in public schools.

“I believe that this is a way to keep a girl child in school. Many young girls miss school because they don’t have access to sanitary pads. I believe that one day I will use my voice to ensure greater accessibility to free sanitary pads,” explained Inothando.

She is studying her first year in education and is part of the student representative council in the education faculty.

Her message to her peers is, “Be a woman who overcomes obstacles in faith rather than tiptoeing around them in fear.

“There will be people in your journey who will be telling you that you can’t do it, only because they are afraid of your potential, so boss up and own your crown. Own your throne. I just want women to always feel in control because we are capable,” she said.
