Striking a chord at Montecasino with Adrian and Emma-Jean Galliard

Fresh from their successful tour of England in August, father-daughter duo Adrian and Emma-Jean return to the SA stage with their entertaining musical revue, Striking a Chord.

The CoLab Network, in association with AEJ Music, proudly present Striking a Chord, starring Adrian and Emma-Jean Galliard with musical direction by Neil Bennett.

This production follows a successful tour of England in August and their debut show, Accidentally Viral, staged in SA last year.

The Galliards shot to fame after uploading a video of themselves performing the Andrea Bocelli and Céline Dion hit, The Prayer, to Facebook on Easter Sunday in 2020 when the world was in lockdown. The video was an instant hit, attracting hundreds of thousands of views in just a few days.

The UK-based The Music Man (a music education charity for people with learning disabilities) later shared the video, and it quickly drew millions more views.

Their sudden and unexpected fame sparked a fairytale musical adventure complete with international acclaim and comical incidences of mistaken identity.

The father/daughter bond is palpable when these two compelling performers take the audience on a musical journey woven with amusing anecdotes and thoughtful commentary.

The show features their most popular covers, such as The Prayer, Time to Say Goodbye and Sound of Silence, musical theatre standards like I Dreamed a Dream and Defying Gravity and unusual arrangements of classics Pie Jesu and Bring Him Home, Barry Manilow’s One Voice and I Write the Songs, as well as a classical mash-up that includes the classical standard O Sole Mio. The show runs for 70 minutes without an interval.

The duo’s harmonious voices create goosebump moments for the audience.

Striking a Chord is on the stage at Pieter Toerien’s Studio Theatre at Montecasino in Fourways. The show is ideal for all ages.
