As they mark the completion of the Mall at Newmarket’s expansion, the Moolman Group, Rejem Property Development (PTY) Ltd and Linton Projects (PTY) Ltd extend their heartfelt gratitude to the greater Alberton community.
To commemorate this success, they embarked on an exciting journey of renewal and expansion that aligns seamlessly with the community’s needs. Their mission was clear: to elevate the customer experience, enrich their fashion offering and fortify this vibrant node.
Renewal for the cherished community
The transformation breathes fresh life into the heart of the mall. From updated communal spaces to improved lighting, refreshed courts, modernised signage, upgraded bathrooms and refreshing new side entrances, every detail aims to create a renewed atmosphere for valued patrons.
Additionally, they are expanding their parking facilities to ensure everyone has a hassle-free experience. These extra parking areas will be ready by the end of April 2024.
In their commitment to delivering a comfortable shopping experience, they proudly introduce a host of new stores, adding 2 320m². From September 28, patrons can explore Woolworths Edit, UNIQ, Mr Price Clothing, Milky Lane and the relocation of Pick n Pay Clothing.
As the festive season approaches, Sheet Street and Miladys will become part of the centre’s growing family in early December 2023.
Renewed and ready
Several of the centre’s existing tenants have taken the opportunity to undergo renovations, aligning their spaces with the enhanced customer experience.
In addition to their renewal, the new Medimix and Netcare Alberton Hospital, situated across the centre as part of the Newmarket Node, exemplify their commitment to providing the Alberton community with everything they need in one accessible location.
The centre management team, new tenants and old favourites are looking forward to welcoming patrons to their new look and new experience.
“We are proud and excited to launch the extended Newmarket Mall. the mall has established itself as the leading shopping destination in Alberton and surrounding areas over the last few years. The extension will complement the existing tenant mix and contribute to an even greater shopping experience,” Pieter Beyers, developments director said.
He said they are confident that the centre will grow from strength to strength.
Hermann Stassen, head of projects and developments, said it is always a great indication of the calibre of the development, tenant mix and products when there is continuous growth.
“This would be the third expansion of the centre since its inception in 2015. With the addition of Mr Price, UNIQ, Woolworths Edit and Miladys to bolster the fashion offering and the addition of Milky Lane to compliment the recent revamp of Panarotti’s and Mugg & Bean, New Market is starting to fulfil its original intended role as a regional shopping centre,” he said.
Riaan Jonker reiterated: “We are sincerely grateful for the ongoing support of the greater Alberton community and trust that this exciting expansion of the Mall at Newmarket will add true value to daily living.”
